MOGAS International FRP Composite - The Ultimate Alternative to Steel
Fibre Reinforced Plastic, (FRP) Composite is the ultimate alternative to steel, MOGAS International specialises in the supply of a wide range of FRP composite materials such as handrails, grating, platforms, ladders, stairways, walkways and more to suit a wide variety of applications in many industries.

Benefits of FRP Composite:
  • Corrosion Resistant
  • Low maintenance requirements
  • Impact resistant
  • Non-conductive and Non metallic
  • Fire Retardant
  • High strength-to-weight ratio
  • Reduce installation time and cost
  • UV Stabilized

PROPERTY FRP Composite Carbon Steel
CORROSION RESISTANCE

Superior resistance to a range of a chemicals. FRP is unaffected by moisture or immersion in water.

Subject to oxidation and corrosion. Steel requires painting and galvanizing for many applications.
IMPACT RESISTANCE Glass fibers evenly distribute impact to prevent surface damage. FRP will not permanently deform under impact.
Can permanently deform under impact.
STRENGTH FRP is stronger than steel for the same weight to strength ratio. Steel is weaker in weight to strength ratio than FRP.
WEIGHT FRP is 1/4 the weight of steel. 4 times heavier than FRP.
FINISHING AND COLOUR There is a uniform colour throughout the product. FRP does not require painting or further maintenance. Must be painted for colour. To maintain color and corrosion resistance, repainting will be required.
UV FRP is UV and colour stabilised even under harsh environments. It will not fade or lose colour. Steel needs to be treated periodically to maintain its exterior coating.
COST Lower maintenance and longer product life equals lower costs in the long term. High maintenance equals higher long term costs.
